Disclaimer: Goes to J. K. Rowling’s house. Knocks on door. J. K. Rowling answers. “Yes, how may I help you?” “May I have the rights to Harry Potter?” “Sure.” Almost stops breathing. “Really?” “No.” Storms off but turns around. “Harry Potter will one day be mine! You hear me? I will own Harry Potter and his entire world!” Walks off screen. J. K. Rowling just shakes her head. “Why do the crazies always show up here?”
I don’t own Harry Potter or anything in his universe. It is probably better this way.

Prologue: What Are You Willing to Give?
The war had raged for 2 years once it had truly begun. Dumbledore had been dead for less than a year when the Death Eaters had made their first real attack and destroyed half of a muggle town. That was what had officially begun the war.
Draco knew better. He knew that Potter had declared war on Voldemort when he refused to give Voldemort the Sorcerer’s Stone. He knew that his father had declared war upon Voldemort when Lucius had slipped the diary into Ginny Weasley’s cauldron Draco’s second year. He knew that Peter Pettigrew had declared war upon the Light when he had helped nurse Voldemort back to health.
He knew that Voldemort had declared war on Harry when he had Diggory killed. He knew that Dumbledore had declared war on Voldemort when he not only stood up to him at the Department of Mysteries, but also destroyed one of Voldemort’s horocruxes.
No the war had begun long before the attack on the muggle town. The war had been secretly raging for years. No the only difference now was the fact that there were real battles. Harry, Ron and Hermione had all destroyed all the horocruxes. All except that blasted locket and Nagini. Draco had been accepted into the small group when he had arrived at Grimmauld place with Hufflepuff’s cup saying, “You might need this piece of Voldemort’s soul.”
They had tested him and he had been accepted and even trusted to help them destroy the rest of the horocruxes. They had tracked down the other horocrux and destroyed it but destroying it had been very difficult. It had taken them 5 months to brew the correct potions and perform the right rituals, but none of them had been harmed.
Tonight they had gone into battle and now Draco was regretting it. His father was safely in Azkaban and his mother hidden away, so he wasn’t worried about hurting his family. Besides they had all turned away from Voldemort and would have been killed on sight. No it was Harry he was worried bout. Harry had been recklessly battling trying desperately trying to find Nagini to kill her.
Draco turned and sighed in relief. Harry was standing over Nagini, looking triumphant. Nagini’s head was severed from her body. But Draco’s look soon turned to one of horror as he saw a green light engulf Harry and his aunt laugh manically over Harry’s body. Without thinking Draco killed Bellatrix and ran to Harry.
Surprisingly Harry wasn’t quite dead and Draco hoped for the best, but as blood stained Harry’s lips, Draco’s hopes fell. “Harry, no, damn-it!” He cradled the Gryffindor to him. “You can’t die yet, not when we’re so close. All we have left is the locket. And then we can all live happily ever after. Ron and Hermione will get married and you and I will snipe at each other till the end of days.”
Harry shook his head and Draco heard Ron and Hermione run up to them, the battle apparently over. Voldemort had retreated and the Light had won this battle, but none of that mattered to Draco. “I can’t Draco; I’m not going to make it this time. You guys have to find the locket and kill that bastard.” He laughed weakly, coughing up blood in the process. “I guess I couldn’t survive the Killing curse twice.”
Harry began to cough even harder and Draco knew his time was running out. He held on to Harry harder. “No, Potter. Don’t you dare do this to me, you wanker! You live, damn you! You fucking live!”
Harry shook his head. “No, I can’t be The-Boy-Who-Lived-Twice. Not even I’m that powerful.” Harry began to lose consciousness and Draco felt it.
“No, no, no!” He began to beat on Harry’s chest and Ron and Hermione restrained him. None of them heard Harry’s final words. They both held his arms for a moment and then released him when they heard his sobs. “No, no, no…”
They knew how close Draco and Harry had become in these past few years and it wasn’t just because they lived together, because all four lived in Grimmauld place. They became even closer than Harry and Ron had been. Harry, Ron, Hermione and Draco were extremely close, but it was different with Draco and Harry. They bickered all the time, but they knew each other better than any other person. While they argued about simple things, they knew exactly how each other liked their tea and would make each other cups without ceasing their bickering. The first time Harry had murdered a Death Eater, Draco had asked no questions when Harry arrived home with the others. He had simply gotten up and hugged Harry, letting the Gryffindor cry on his shoulder. No words were shared between them. No words were needed.
They didn’t need to ask when Harry died. Draco’s howl of pain was all they needed.
----------~~~~~~~~~~----------
Draco did not acknowledge the new presence; he simply continued to rock Harry’s body. Had he looked up he would have seen a beautiful woman. She was the most beautiful to walk the earth, yet Draco ignored her. She was tall, about 6”1’. Her skin was pale, almost translucent it was so pale, but she did not look unhealthy. Her hair was silver, but she was not aged. Her lips were a very pale pink and her eyes a very pale blue. She was elegant and her elegance was only enhanced by her sliver gown. It clung to her, yet seemed to loosely fall around her at the same time.
She spoke in a soft but commanding voice. “My dragon, why do you weep?”
He answered without so much as a glance at her. “Can you not see? He’s dead, he’s dead.”
“Well, for a Malfoy, you have given up without much of a fight.”
He finally tore his gaze away from Harry’s face to glare at this woman. “How dare you judge me, how dare-” His words became caught in his throat.
Ron looked at the woman and gasped. He immediately knelt and when Hermione gave him a strange look her yanked her down with him. She looked even more confused when Ron would not allow her to stand. She opened her mouth to complain, but Ron hissed. “Not now.”
The woman looked kindly at Draco, only nodding at Ron’s actions. She knelt and looked at Harry’s body. “Well, you’re right he is dead, but there may be hope. His soul has not yet left his body. I might be able to save him. But there will be a price.”
Draco looked at her, new tears beginning to form. “You could bring him back?” He smiled at her, hoping beyond hope that she could. “You could give him life again?”
Sadly she shook her head. “No. Not even I hold the power of life. You should know that, my Dragon. I can however reverse this.” At Draco’s look of confusion she explained. “I can bring the three of you back in time. Your consciousnesses would remain there for only 24 hours. Then they would die and then you would live your new lives.
“So no, I cannot give Harry life again, but you can change this so it never happens. However,” She raised a hand. “This can only be done once. And you must all give something of great value. I cannot simply change time without payment.”
Hermione finally rose, shaking off Ron’s hands and warnings. “Who are you? No mortal can change time.”
The woman smiled. “I am Luna, Goddess of the Moon. You, my dear, are being offered a once in a lifetime chance. And without payment from all three of you, this will not work. Time is running out. Harry’s soul is passing on. Once it does, I can no longer help you. It his life we are trying to change so we must do so while his soul is on this plane.”
Draco stood. “I will do it.”
Ron stood as well. “So will I.”
Hermione looked confused but nodded. “Anything to help Harry.”
The goddess smiled. “Wonderful, but what are you willing to give? I said it before, and I will repeat it. I cannot simply send you careening through space and time without a suitable payment. And what ever you give now, you shall lose in your new life as well, so be careful.”
Hermione looked around her and finally spotted the tome she had found years ago. She always carried it with her, it was priceless. It contained spells so old they predated the founders. She looked at it longingly. Finally she spelled it to its original size and offered it to the goddess. “This is my most treasured possession. It is a tome whose spells are so old they predate anything else I have found.”
Taking the tome, Luna nodded. “You shall find it and use it to discover how to destroy the horocruxes then you shall lose it, never to see it again. Is this acceptable?” When Hermione nodded she snapped her fingers and the tome disappeared. She then turned to Ron. “What do you offer?”
Ron looked at his ancient, magical dagger, it was the most important thing he owned, but knew it was not enough. He thought for a moment and then realized what he could offer. “I offer my title, and all the riches and land that go with it.” He had inherited a fortune and a lot of land from a distant relative of his mother’s side. Apparently she had taken a liking to him.
The goddess smiled and nodded. “Yes that is acceptable. You will never inherit your fortune or title.” Finally she turned to Draco. “And what are you willing to give for this opportunity?”
“Anything,” Draco answered instantly. The goddess stared at him expectantly. He could give up his fortune as well, but no. It wasn’t as important to Draco as it was to Ron, who had always been poor. He could offer something physical, but nothing physical had ever meant a damn to him. So what could he offer? Harry was the most important thing in his life, and he couldn’t offer her Harry. Never.
The goddess smirked at him. “It must be that which you treasure most Draco. You most value Harry. Could you give him up? Could you never be a part of his life if it meant he would live?”
The answer was instantaneous. “Yes.”
The goddess’s smile turned kinder. “Luckily, my dragon, you don’t need to. The fates will not keep you apart, and I cannot fight fate. No it must be something else.”
Draco nodded, instantly relieved. ‘But what else could I give? I need my magic for the war, my money means nothing to me, and I have nothing physical that I care that much about. There is nothing I can give.’ Suddenly it hit him. ‘No, that’s not true. I do have one thing I can give.’
“My pride.” The goddess looked surprised. “I mean my being so prideful, my being a pureblood. Make it so that there was a muggle or something in my lineage.” When the goddess raised an eyebrow, Draco thought of something else. “Take Haakon, my eagle owl.”
The goddess looked surprised. “Both?”
Draco nodded, satisfied with his offering. He summoned Haakon and handed her to the goddess. She smiled at Draco. “Then since you offer so much, Haakon will come back to you once he dies, in a different form of course.”
She smiled at them. “You have all paid. Hermione has paid with her tome, and she will never be the most well informed witch. Ron has paid with his wealth. He will never be rich or overly wealthy. Draco has paid with his pride. He will no longer be a pureblood.”
She looked at them somberly. “You now must choose a destination. You can travel to a day within your own life and change things from there, reliving a simple 24 hours. Or you may travel to another point in time and watch for 3 hours. You may then travel to your own life and influence it for 6 hours.
“Any questions?”
“Can we write things down if we visit a time other than our own?” Hermione had a thoughtful look in her eyes. When the goddess told her she could, Hermione immediately began to pick where. Ron was trying to figure out when he would go as well. Only Draco knew for certainty where he would go.
Luna looked at Draco’s expression. “What have you chosen, Dragon?”
“The day that I met Harry.” Luna looked surprised and then nodded.
Ron looked at Draco and nodded. “I choose the same. I want to go back to the day I met Harry as well.”
They were surprised when Hermione chose to go somewhere else. “I want to follow this mysterious R.A.B. and where he took the locket. Then I want to go to my sorting.”
“Fine then. By the way the trip through time will take a bit I suggest you talk about what you will do.” With that Luna began to prepare for their departure.
Draco walked over to Harry. Though his body was cold, Draco knew that Harry’s soul was still in the body. “Hang in there Harry. We’re going to fix all of this. We’ll fix all this and you’ll be alive. Then I’ll be able to beat your Gryffindor ass for dying on me.”
He jumped when someone put a hand on his shoulder. Luna gave him a small smile. “I have one last gift for the three of you, well,” She looked at Harry, “really the four of you.” She gave them all crystals.
“Place the crystal to your heart and all of your memories will be put into them, like a pensive. You won’t be able to access them until you’re old enough.” She demonstrated on Harry. She placed the crystal on his heart and suddenly his began to glow green. Soon the crystal was as green as an emerald and Draco was sure it was now an emerald. It would probably remain one until it was used.
Draco tried the process and his soon became a diamond, so it simply became clearer and sharper. Ron’s was a ruby and Hermione’s was a deep sapphire. Draco looked at the goddess and she held out her hand. They handed them to her and she put them into a pouch.
“They will be sent to you when the time is right. Now all of you, hurry. The time is right. They looked and saw that the sun had become blocked by the moon. “It is the time when I am at my most powerful.” She looked at Harry who lay in the center of the circle. “He will not last long as it is. We must go now!”
They all quickly stepped into circle. The goddess began to chant in a long forgotten tongue and the circle began to glow. Soon, Draco found himself falling, and looked and saw the others were falling as well. He turned and saw Luna, Goddess of the Moon, The most beautiful woman to ever walk the earth smiling at him. “Go, save him.”
And Draco would do just that. He would save Harry, and hopefully change the future in the process.
