A/N: My friends Greg and Kitty, along with myself, have taken to writing Harry Potter stories including ourselves in the overall plot. Sadly, we have the attention span of a mexican jumping bean, so we have never been able to finish them. I am making an attempt to start and finish mine, keep in mind the word 'attempt'.
You should also keep in mind that this story is selfish. The plot will be sacrificed for my lust towards Sirius Black, Severus Snape, and, sadly, The Dark Lord. I love you all, but I must watch Severus. It is my duty. Therefore I bear The Dark Mark. So, don't poo on me about the whole Death Eater stuff, because I'm just doing my damn job.
Oh, and I'm also bound to go back into the Marauder Era. I love those boys. Don't be surprised when that happens, either.
Well, now that I've given you a fair warning, I present to you "All Good Things Come to An End". Remember, no bashing or flaming unless you are in this story. Also, keep your hands inside the vehicle, it's going to be a very nasty ride.
I'd always imagined that the most important day of my life would seem, well, important. There would be something there to tell it apart from the rest, to make me stop and say, "Hmm. This day seems important. I wonder why?" But, sadly, the most important day of my life had nothing distinguishable about it. Well, not until the important part rolled around, at least.
Me and my friends, Greg Curley and Shaniques 'Kitty' Dorisca had been walking in circles around the strip mall, dodging the watching cops. Police always liked to watch us teenagers to make us feel uncomfortable. It was working. We hadn't stopped pacing the sidewalk for the past hour, wondering when a man with a badge would stop us to yell and give warnings about the dangers about drugs.
Obviously, we'd been on edge, so when we heard loud footsteps pounding behind us, sounding closer with each passing second, we turned to look rather quickly. We saw two large men, one black, the other with a weird looking eye, running towards us at top speed. The both of them were being chased by cops. And, before I could say, "That guy looks like Mad-Eye Moody", the men had tackled us, and my head came in contact with the hard, and I mean HARD sidewalk. Merlin, I hate concrete.
I woke up with a rush. I rush of pain in my head, a rush of 'where the hell am I?', and, moreso, a rush of recent memories. I remembered seeing Mad-Eye, and I also remembered seeing a man who looked like Kingsley Shacklebolt. Both from Harry Potter, and both looking like they belonged in the movies. So, as I woke up, swearing loudly, and clutching my head, and looking around the room, there was only one thing I had to say --
"Where the fuck am I?" I half-screamed, half-groaned, swinging my legs over the side of the bed and clutching the part of my head that pouded like all that's evil in the world.
"Pardon me?" A shrill voice said to the left of me. I looked over my shoulder and saw Professor McGonagall. She looked pissed.
"Shit. I mean -- " I stopped myself, thinking about my words before I said any more of them. "I'm sorry. I didn't know you were here, I just -- "
"Lena!" Echoed a voice through my pain-infested brain from far infront of me. I looked to see who it was, even though I already knew. Yeap, it was Kitty running toward me, followed by Greg. The sound of her heels clicking against the floor made my head throb even worse.
"Shh!" Someone hissed from behind me. The voice walked out to meet my friends. It was Madam Promfy, the Hogwarts nurse. Then it hit me.
"Where am I?" I asked Kitty and Greg, whose smiles got bigger, if that was even possible.
"Hogwarts!" They both shouted at the same time.
I clutched my head, afraid that it might explode. It just as well might've if they'd kept on yelling like that.
"Can you please not yell, I feel like my head's going to pop." I said, squinting up at them through the spaces between my fingers.
"Here, drink this." Promfy said, handing me a glass of what I thought was water. I drank it, and soon found out it wasn't water. I gagged, but kept it down. I handed her the empty glass.
"Uck!" I yelled, making what have been a horrible face, but not as horrible as that thing had tasted.
"I always get complaints, never any 'Thank-you's. Well, you'll see -- " She kept on talking to herself as she walked down the other end of the room.
I took a quick glance at McGonagall, who still looked pissy, before turning back to Greg and Kitty. There was now only one thing on my mind. Well, one person, I should say.
"Is Sirius alive?!" I yelled, making my own head hurt. However, I didn't care about my head right then, all I cared about was Sirius, and if he was still gracing the earth with his presence.
Kitty and Greg looked at one another before looking at me. My heart quickened as the thoughts of Sirius being dead, and me having to live here without even getting to meet him started to eat away at me.
"Tell me!" I yelled, starting to cry. It's be cruel for me to be here if Sirius was already gone. Worse than cruel... It'd be death during life.
"He's alive." Kitty said, biting her bottom lip.
I breathed a sigh of relief. I realized that she didn't look like she had good news, but any news other than him being dead was good news.
"It's just that no one knows where he is. We think Harry might, but he won't tell a couple of strangers where Sirius is hiding." She finished, looking back to Greg.
I sat there silently, considering that for a moment. I shook my head, trying to clear my mind and make room for better thinking.
"How old is Harry?" I asked Kitty, knowing that she'd know.
She locked eyes with me. She clearly didn't want to say.
"He's still too old for you, Marlena." Greg said.
"How old is Harry Potter?" I asked again, more sternly.
"Mrs. Rosinski," McGonagall began, stepping toward the bed.
My patience ran out.
"HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE WITH SIRIUS?!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. My voice echoed throughout the room, the words still lingering seconds after.
"Two years." Kitty said, looking at me with a small amount of fear in her eyes. "Harry just started his fourth year."
I nodded. I knew I had to go find Sirius. He was the only thing here for me right now. I'd always wanted him, and now, I needed him.
"Where do you think you're going?" McGonagall said, stepping between me and my friends.
"Uh, to go find Sirius Black." I said, trying to push past her. The stuff Pomfrey had given me must've worked, because when McGonagall stopped me with a steady hand my head didn't hurt.
"I don't think that's wise." She said, looking at me over her glasses. She so wasn't messing around.
However, on the other hand, I really didn't give a fuck.
"They can't stop me. You can't stop me. Not even Voldemort," She cringed, "Can stop me. Got it? Good." I said, wiping off her hand, and pushing past her.
"The Headmaster will not be pleased with your behavior!" McGonagall yelled after me.
I didn't care about Dumbledore at the time. I didn't care about the sound of my friends running after me. As I pushed open the doors of the Hospital Wing I didn't even care that I wasn't wearing any shoes. I walked down the Grand Staircase toward the main entrence with only one thing on my mind: Finding Sirius Black.
On the other hand, when I ran into Dumbledore at the bottom of the staircase another thought popped into my head: Oh shit.
